The family is the root of all emerging institutions in the world. No creature in this world exists without a family. \The family is more than blood relationship, it is the feeling of being at home with people whom you can show your self without hesitation. 

Whether you like it or not a large portion of who you are is brought about by the things you experience with your family. You pick up the familial practices that embody your personal culture. Therefore, accept it or not your sense of self direction is honed in the family.

Communication

Day 7 #100happydays

Relationships begin and end because of communication. In its necessity, people spend a lot of money just to get connected. You and I will not exist without communication. All human transactions are rooted in communication. Therefore, communication gives color to life.

Communication makes people grow. It provides indispensable learning that hones personality.Try to picture how a Filipino child adopted by Spanish parents will learn to speak Spanish thru the acculturation he will encounter with his parents. Imagine how would teachers deliver their lessons without communication. So, whether you like it or not your interactions greatly contributes to your individuality. More so, you also bestow others personal advancement as you deal with them.

Various gadgets are created to bridge the gap in communication brought by distance. The world has progressed already from the classic snail mail to the modern trend of video calling. A lot of people now a days cannot survive without their mobile phones. It even became a part of their respective fashion statement. We have to admit that communication is like food, people love to listen and be heard at the same time. It is clear that communication is a significant portion of human existence. 

Make Each Moment Count

Day 6 #100happydays

Time is a priceless commodity. Rich, poor, young, old, sick or healthy need time. Life is equated to time. Each moment productively spent is equal to a life experienced at its finest. Therefore wasted time consequently results to a ravaged portion of existence. 

Nothing is certain in the world we live in. Amidst this uncertainty is the uncontrollable feature of time. Morbid yet true, life ends. No one is sure about the future, One can just remain hopeful that after a solemn slumber death does not take over and a good morning sunshine awaits. But sometimes faith on a beautiful future motivates one to be complacent. The belief that a cheery tomorrow will arrive makes neglect to be a usual practice.

Yes, the universe where we are is in extreme rush. Despite the busy reality of everyday life, taking significant people and events for granted is never acceptable because of the limits of time. Often, human love is expressed when someone is already on his deathbed where only short moments of warmth can be shared. People rarely realize that time is fleeting where milestones missed can no longer be reexperienced. So when is I Love You best said, during a funeral where the beloved can no longer hear it or in a moment where regularity is made special thru togetherness?

Your time is not permanent, mine is also uncertain. In reality we control nothing in this world even ourselves because of the boundaries of time. Each second, minute or day is different from another. The encounters you have today are not sure to occur again tomorrow.

People say that only the rich have time. But they are busy spending their time getting richer. They say the poor have time. But poor people are focused in putting their effort to rise from poverty. Get this, it is never about the amount of time spent but it is more of the quality of time given in every relationship, event or endeavor.

So truly, it is up to you how to ensure that you spend your time productively. But the most important thing is being able to live life without regrets.

Love Breeds Life

Day 5 #100happydays

Life becomes life with love. All creatures great or small yearn for love. Love brings out the best in everything. Without love human existence becomes very technical and mechanic. It is sought by all walks of life across all ages.

Love makes everything possible. Even Jesus our Lord died on the cross because of his love for mankind. A mother would risk her life in childbirth because of love. A man can kill a thousand all because of love. It allows one to thrive despite the odds. A person who loves what he does will exert the necessary effort to succeed in it. Even when he is faced with many challenges, he will go beyond his limits because of his love for his work. Steve Jobs sold millions of Apple products because he placed his heart in what he does. J.K. Rowling never thought that her love for writing would make the world tumble because of Harry Potter. Oliver Tolentino, a great Filipino designer made it big in Hollywood dressing up the stars all because he has passion for his craft.

Love truly brings people to varied experiences. Kate Middleton, a commoner became a respected royalty all because she was strong enough to face the hardships of loving Prince William.  Love allows a woman married to a seafarer be faithful despite the many temptations around her. It motivates a man to get out of his shell to make his beloved feel the warmth of his endearment.

Love is so magical that it can join two hearts into one to achieve a greater purpose in existence: the creation of the family. The family is the source and the result of prudent sincere love. It molds a person to be the best that he can be in order to bring compassion to the universe where he subsists. Without love in the family, it will be unfeasible for man to learn how to love. Therefore, love is fundamental to existence. Man, animals and plants grow and advance with love.

Love is more than just a feeling. It is further than a thrilling euphoric experience. It is a state of being freely chosen. When one decides to love, one also embarks in a journey full of uncertainty. Real ,unconditional, committed love is free from expectation but full of acceptance and compassion. To have the courage to love and be able to flourish in it is already a triumphant experience, how much more to be love in return?

Choice Creates Change

Day 4 #100happydays

Life is a vast array of choices. We are all challenged to make the right choices in order to arrived at our desired destination. Whether we like it or not our choices will impact our lives. So much awareness is needed to be able to make clear cut decisions.

Everyday we make numerous decisions from the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the places we go or the people we hang out with. These choices create our persona. They change and mold us to grow and develop into the beings who we are. When a woman decides to marry, she also accepts to share her life with another individual and in the same manner when a man enters the commitment of marriage he chooses to relinquish his freedom and mature to be the father of the house. Career opportunities are also great decisions people are faced with nowadays. When a person selects a particular field of interest, say engineering or medicine or teaching he also faces the reality of the work he chose. His choice is accompanied by duties, responsibilities, perks and risks. This is the same when a person takes the option to work overseas, he opens himself to a new horizon of opportunity and learning yet he also places himself to a gamble that can affect him and those around him. 

The strongest phenomenon in this world is choice. Even God had to make a choice to send his only begotten Son to save humanity from sin. The choice we make can lead us to success or to destruction. Even not making a decision is still a choice. Therefore, self-awareness is essential in decision making. One has to understand the tenets of what he wants and the current situation that he has to be able to weigh a particular option. Yes, it is never easy but to be able to attain a dream thru carefully studied decisions is self-fulfilling. It does not only bring triumph but it proves one's strength of character.

To be able to do the right thing at the right time is more than just a personal disposition. It is the root of inevitable change that affects you, me and everyone else

So now DECIDE.

Contentment

Day 2 #100happydays

All human engagement is directed towards the attainment of happiness. For most people happiness is a fleeting feeling attached to various types of experiences. But in truth,  it is a state of mind based on one's choices. The big decision is grounded on the acceptance and appreciation of what a person has. Don't get this wrong, it will never be a mistake to dream and to want a good life. The real question is when to stop exerting effort for the better mode of living and when to begin valuing one's current status.

Parents leave their children in the care of nannies so they can focus on their work to provide a brighter future for the family. But before they know it, important milestones were missed already due to their physical absence. Overseas Filipino Workers risk their lives and put their relationship in an uncertain compromise to earn more and give the perceived material things that can probably bring happiness. However, because of the distance, emotional attachments crumble. One great example would be a man who works as a seafarer to bestow his fiancee an extravagant wedding. But to his surprise, he finds his beloved in the arms of another man when he comes back to marry her. Third parties and extramarital affairs also happen because a husband, wife or any partner finds the missing pieces in another person. All of these are done to acquire happiness. But in most cases, these actions do not fully result to a satisfied life. 

To aspire for a great life is a natural human faculty but it is very important to find contentment. Life satisfaction is not a mere feeling it is a choice to make the most of what you have. It is a decision to find beauty in one's existence despite heavy occurrences. Happiness is a conscious effort. It is a choice.

Contentment does not stop a person from improving himself. But it provides him the prudence to recognize the goodness of his present life. It teaches him to give importance to people and things around him as they are.

Contentment makes coffee taste good even without sugar...

Faith

Day 1 #100happydays...

There are only two things that are sure in this universe, change and prayer. The world is full of uncertainty. Therefore, each day of life is a gift that should be lived to the fullest. Our beliefs motivate our actions. So, the more positive the belief, the more productive and better actions result.

Even in the midst of darkness, light can only be seen by those who open their eyes and welcome it. Faith is the most powerful yet priceless phenomenon in existence that can change even the impossible. Its power can create life and bring unfathomable joy. One great example is when a mother deeply believes that after nine months she will be able to bring into the world a beautiful child despite the odds. Her faith is so strong that she allows herself to go through the pains of childbirth even if she knows that it can cause her life.

Teachers face the challenges of mentoring with the conviction that they can touch lives and bring helpful lessons even if they are unsure whether their students are learning from them. Entrepreneurs engage into business with the notion that to a certain extent they will succeed and profit. Doctors fight death and save lives even if they know that the survival of their patient is not in their hands. Counselors talk to clients even if there is no assurance that their presence will alleviate the concerns of their counselees. 

Whether you believe it or not you work with faith, I work with faith.

Faith is inevitable.... So its your choice to power your life with the right beliefs.
